Do You Have to Keep Wegovy in the Fridge?

According to the electronic Medicines Compendium (eMC), Wegovy pens should be stored in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C, away from the freezer compartment and out of direct sunlight. Freezing the pen can damage it — if a pen has been frozen, it should not be used.

Once out of the fridge

After removal from the refrigerator, the pen may be kept at room temperature (below 30°C / 86°F) for a limited period. The exact number of days permitted is stated in the patient information leaflet that came with your pen, and on the electronic Medicines Compendium. Always check your own leaflet rather than relying on memory, as guidance can be updated.

Practical tips for storage

• Store pens in the body of the fridge, not in the door, where temperatures can fluctuate more.
• Keep pens in their original packaging to protect them from light.
